LifeCare Hospitals of Plano is conveniently located at Tennyson Parkway and Preston Road, easily accessed from I-75 or the North Dallas Tollroad in Plano. We are licensed for 66 beds and have a medical staff of more than 150 physicians. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and are Medicare certified.

Like all LifeCare Hospitals, we specialize in the treatment of medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization, typically for more than 25 days. We are passionate about giving our patients the best chance at recovery from acute injury or illness by providing early and aggressive intervention in a critical care setting. Our treatment team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and therapists across a range of disciplines - physical, speech, occupational, respiratory, recreational and psychological therapy. We believe this interdisciplinary approach helps speed physical, emotional and spiritual recovery. We embrace each of our patients as individuals with a personal history and a unique health situation and we provide the compassion, support, and nurturing necessary to achieve optimal recovery.

All of our patient rooms are ICU and telemetry capable, and our highly trained staff are ACLS certified. We provide in-house physician coverage nightly from 7PM-7AM. Our VitalStim therapy program for the treatment of swallowing disorders, as well as special services for the management of lymphedema and renal disease, make us uniquely qualified to care for medically complex patients. LifeCare Hospitals of Plano also provide seven-day-a-week wound care services, provided by our multidisciplinary wound care team. We also have an in-house lab and CT machine for immediate diagnostic ability 24/7. We also offer many of these unique services on an outpatient basis.

Admissions
At LifeCare Hospitals of Plano, we pride ourselves on our customer-focused admissions team. Patients can be referred to our facility from a variety of sources, including family physicians, specialists, case managers, social workers, home health agencies, nursing homes or personal care homes. The patient or family member can also make a direct request for a consultation to any of our professionals.

The process is easy. Simply ask the physician to write an order to "Consult LifeCare Hospitals of Plano" for transfer or admission. The individual receiving the order need only call us to arrange for a Clinical Liaison to evaluate you or your loved one. Our carefully trained Liaison will evaluate the patient within 2 hours. If clinically appropriate, it should take no more than 24 hours to have the patient admitted to one of our campuses. We accept Medicare and most private insurance, and will coordinate with your insurance company to ensure a seamless admission process. Our Liaison will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our program, and you are invited to tour our hospital. If we are unable to accept you or your loved one, we will be happy to recommend other options.
