Nursing Care for Those at the End of Life 9-4-14

This program provides information to healthcare workers who care for patients in the complex medical care environment with an overview of managing patients at the end of their life. At the conclusion of this program the learner should be able to define loss and grief, identify the role of nurse at the End-of–Life, identify the 5 stages of grief by Kubler- Ross, identify the physical needs of the dying , recognize barriers to a “good death” experience, establishing competencies necessary for nurses to provide high quality of care, implement a Plan-of-Care for End-of Life, identify legal principles associated with End-of-Life. The program provides a 1-hour CE credit from the Commission for Case Manager Certification Activity code: I00010950 Approval Number: 140000965, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Synergy CERP Category A, File Number 00018876, and from the National Association of Social Workers approval#: 886554285-2961.
